Under the moon of may

When I was a boy
I have left my toys
on the fields under the moon
and now I am not sure

Where they are today
that I need to play
even if I'm a man
that cannot find himself

And under the moon of may 
I've to admit I've gone astray 
along all the wrong roads 
following many bad calls 
the moon is the pure truth 

When the sun is high
I've a mask of light
that helps me to hide myself
from the people of this land

But the moonlight melts
with its long white hands
the mask over my face
