Oggi è il giorno dedicato al perdono. Francesco chiese al Papa nel 1216 di istituire un giorno di indulgenza. Da allora si celebra ogni due agosto alla Porziuncola. Il piccolo santuario di Assisi dove il Santo morì, dieci anni dopo. Mia nonna mi raccontava sempre della festa del Perdono del due di agosto che si celebrava qui, nel piccolo paesino ormai abbandonato di Palaveggio, nel minuscolo oratorio. Frammenti di storia ormai dimenticati. Fede e canti di gioia di cui ormai resta solo un eco lontano in mezzo ai muri diroccati delle case lasciate da decenni. Mi sono sempre domandato come mai quel giorno, pur se originato in tutt’altro contesto antropologico, fosse proprio il due di agosto, esattamente il giorno dopo della grande e millenaria festa celtica del raccolto: Lughnasadh. Io ci vedo una perfetta corrispondenza logica: dopo avere raccolto tutto quello di cui abbiamo bisogno, dobbiamo chiedere perdono, agli uomini e agli dei. Perché per fare un buon raccolto, noi per forza dobbiamo avere commesso qualche ingiustizia, qualche piccolo grande crimine, verso qualcun altro. Verso la natura, verso le persone che ci circondano, verso noi stessi. Oggi che le nostre vite sono ormai completamente distaccate dal ciclo delle stagioni, la riflessione antropologica diventa interiore ed emotiva. Prima c’è un momento di raccoglimento in cui si cerca di capire cosa effettivamente siamo stati in grado di accumulare nei nostri giorni, durante il periodo più luminoso dell’anno, addentrandoci lentamente lungo il crinale discendente che va verso l’inverno. Poi dobbiamo riflettere sulle azioni che ci hanno portato a raccogliere quello che abbiamo e ad essere quello che siamo, nel bene e nel male. Ed ecco che appare chiaro come questo raccolto sia stato pagato, se da noi o da altri. Di fronte a tutto ciò, diviene inevitabile chiedere perdono, col cuore colmo di gratitudine, di insoddisfazione o di pentimento. Io sento forte questo momento e sento l’esigenza di confessare tutto. Non a un prete o a uno strizzacervelli. Per provare a diradare le forze che incombono sul mio cuore. “I am confessing, not to a priest or confession box, not to a shrink. Io non sento bruciare dentro di me la colpa per avere davvero ferito o depredato qualcun altro, anche se ci sono alcune persone a cui sono immensamente grato a cui devo tanto. Dal blog scopro che questa è la sesta volta che vedo dal vivo Stuart e compagni! L’ultima volta nel 2018. Serata eccezionale a Bologna per il trentennale (dico, trent’anni!!) del meraviglioso “If you are feeling sinister”. Stuart, da buona vergine, ha deciso di celebrare facendo dal vivo tutti i pezzi in ordine di come sono inseriti nell’album. È uno dei miei album preferiti, in assoluto, e quindi ho apprezzato tantissimo! Top: “Fox in the snow”. Ho cantato tutti i pezzi. Hanno addirittura mostrato LP che si girava sul lato B. Stuart in gran forma, vocalmente, agile e simpatico come sempre ma decisamente ingrassato. Steve, al contrario, molto dimagrito. Gli anni passano e tutti dobbiamo fare i conti con il nostro fragile corpo. Alla fine dell’album, Stuart, ha detto che “dopo trent’anni ci siamo ancora quasi tutti” (9 musicisti sul palco)...ma poi ha ringraziato Isobel Campbell con una nota di nostalgia. Alla fine dell’album sono usciti come se fosse finito il concerto. Poi sono rientrati tra gli applausi più carichi di prima con pezzi super danzerecci come “I’m a cuckoo", un “Dress up to you” appena accennato a cappella e “Piazza New York Catcher”. Ci ha raccontato anche la genesi di questo pezzo, scritto quando andava in giro per il mondo per incontrare la sua futura moglie americana di origine siciliana. Il pezzo cantato solo da Steve non può mai mancare. Poi un pezzo “nuovo” scritto durante la pandemia, molto dolce. La, quasi chiusura, classica: “The boy with the Arab strap” e tutti sul palco a ballare! Per una volta, mi sono di nuovo sentito un po’ giovane.

Ci sono diverse teorie sulla loro ubicazione, ma la più avvalorata vede le tre cime nell’Appennino Reggiano: Monte Valestra (Ballista), Monte San Vitale (Leto) e Pietra di Bismantova (Suismontium).

Dopo il vento 

la città è coperta 

di foglie secche 

e di semi 

come un autunno 

a fine primavera 

come la morte 

assieme alla vita 

come il fondale 

oscuro del Baikal *. 

 

 * Il lago Baikal, in Siberia meridionale, con i suoi 1.642 metri di profondità massima, è il lago d'acqua dolce più profondo del mondo. Sono moltissime le antiche leggende che parlano di questo luogo.

Tori non è solo la mia cantautrice preferita di sempre. I suoi testi sono entrati dentro di me e i suoi pezzi mi hanno salvato dalla disperazione tante volte, in altri casi hanno accompagnato e identificato i miei momenti di gioia. Per me è una maestra spirituale. Forse l’unica che ho ancora. Vederla dal vivo, in questa data che ormai da anni è diventata l’unica italiana, a Milano, è per me un appuntamento imprescindibile. Da Beltaine, giorno di uscita del nuovo album “In times of dragons”, sto ascoltando il suo nuovo lavoro e penso sia uno dei migliori degli ultimi anni. Ieri sera a Milano è stata straordinaria. Per la prima volta aveva tre coriste (so called “angel witches”) con lei sul palco: l'ultima volta che la vidi a Milano qualche anno fa, notai in maniera netta l’affaticamento e l’abbassamento della sua splendida voce; temevo quindi che le coriste servissero a coprire questa sua diminuzione…e la cosa non mi piaceva. Invece: le coriste hanno sì eseguito bene alcuni acuti e vocalizzi in pezzi che di solito faceva lei, ma per il resto sono state solo un contorno molto gradevole. Tori ha cantato e lo ha fatto con grande forza ed energia, con un tono leggermente più basso ma assolutamente riconoscibile. Ieri sera, sul palco, era davvero in forma. Si divertiva, sorrideva, ci guardava soddisfatta. Innamorata del suo pianoforte su cui a tratti pareva andare in estasi mentre suonava. La grande sorpresa della serata è stata una splendida “Pretty good year” che credo di non avere mai sentito dal vivo: ne ha anche raccontato la genesi, la lettera scritta a un ragazzo che poi gli rispose quando il pezzo raggiunse la vetta della UK chart! Poi splendida “Winter” con un lungo intro inedito. E “Crucify”, pure impreziosita da un incipit mai sentito e in cui le coriste hanno fatto un lavoro egregio. Del nuovo album sono mancate le mie preferite (“23 peaks”, “Strawberry moon” e “Song of sorrow”) ma una gradevolissima “Gasoline girls” la cui melodia iniziale col pianoforte, non mi esce dalla testa. Due ore di musica straordinaria terminate con il classico party alla “Big wheel” e tutti sotto al palco. Siamo stati tutti iniziati all’antico ordine del drago!
